Our Story

Built from the Classroom

In 2023, Yevhenii Holopotyliuk worked as a developer at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences — where he met Robert Leppin, who taught English at the language centre. The problem was always the same: conversation is the most important part of language learning — and there was never enough time for it.

In September 2023 they founded Tolkee: AI dialogues with a 3D avatar that let students practise independently — while teachers can see the results without having to grade every exercise individually.

Entrepreneur since 2018 — first founded the digital agency BeSale in Odesa (9 employees). While working as a developer at Anhalt University, he identified the problem: teachers had no time for real conversation practice. In September 2023 he founded Tolkee — from the first line of code to partnerships with universities in 3 countries.
